The weight of the LEVIA weighted duvet is distributed over more than 1,000 chambers. These extra small, 5x5 cm chambers ensure even weight distribution across the entire blanket.

WHY IS THE SIZE OF THE CHAMBERS RELEVANT?

The smaller the chambers of a weighted blanket are, the better the glass beads get distributed inside the blanket. This prevents the glass beads to move around inside the blanket and causes less noise during the night. 


The size of the chamber also affects how the weight of the blanket is perceived. For example, blankets with large chambers can cause uncomfortable pressure points due to the higher weight per chamber.

8 buttonholes around the weighted duvet ensure the perfect fit and hold with the duvet cover. The LEVIA duvet covers can be securely connected to the weighted duvet via matching loops on the inside of the cover.

WHY ARE BUTTONHOLES & LOOPS IMPORTANT?

The number of loops & buttonholes has an impact on the comfort and handling of the blanket. The more connection points a weighted duvet has, the less the blanket will "sag" when the body moves during the night and be less likely to slip in the cover. 


The kind of "connection points" is also important. The buttonholes of the LEVIA weighted duvet are sewn directly into the duvet and can therefore be easily linked to the loops of the cover. The use of buttonholes also reduces the risk of tearing loops or damaging the blanket.

Weighted blankets are actually not new in pediatric care. In hospitals and other care facilities, they have been used successfully for many years as so-called "therapy blankets" to treat sleep disorders in children, stress, anxiety, depression and various mental illnesses. 


By placing the blanket on the child, a pleasant, even deep pressure is created, which acts on the child's entire body. How do the LEVIA KIDS blanket covers differ?

As with the LEVIA blanket for adults, LEVIA covers differ mainly in the type of fabric. For example, all covers are woven from 100% cotton, but the weave is different in each case. Depending on the outside temperature, the different fabrics can regulate the temperature under the blanket. 


For example, the "flannel cover" has a warming effect in cold months, the "satin cover" has a cooling effect in warm months, and the "jacquard cover" can be used all year round thanks to the mix of two types of fabric. 

What weight and size should I choose?

When choosing the right weight for your weighted blanket, you should choose a blanket between 7-12% of your child's body weight. Every child reacts differently to the gentle weight of the blanket, so if you are unsure, we recommend choosing the lighter weight. 


The size of the blanket depends mainly on the size of the bed and the height of the child. Thus, the blanket should not hang over the mattress and in the best case rest on the mattress. 

How can I wash the LEVIA blanket?

All parts of the LEVIA KIDS blanket are washable. You can machine wash the weighted duvet at 30° and the LEVIA covers between 40-60° (please follow the care instructions in the respective cover). The cover and weighted duvet must be washed separately to prevent damage to the covers. 

What is included in my order?

Your order of LEVIA KIDS blanket includes one weighted duvet and one cover in size 100x135 cm and 140x200 cm respectively. All weighted duvets and covers come in practical cotton storage bags. The package also includes LEVIA Welcome Pack with care instructions and a sleep diary.
